Dream of Californication

Once upon a time there were two friends, Simone Lombardo and Christian Favale, who were a bit dreamy and quite reckless, and decided to accept the absurd challenge of the artist Damien Hirst to see all his works in the “Spot paintings” series in the Gagosian galleries in exchange for an unspecified “prize”.
It was an epic journey that would take them through Rome, New York, Paris, Los Angeles, Geneva, London, Hong Kong, and Athens. And of course, they couldn’t help but eat anything in every city.
It was a month of incredible experiences, with a real turning point in Los Angeles, where some locals struck them both for the environment, with fantastic murals and colorful street art, and for the music, which was innovative.
The tasting of the rattlesnake hot dog at Wurstküche was a sensational experience, but they promised never to propose it!
There were then other bizarre trips and other discoveries, before returning home determined to open in Genoa something unique inspired by their experiences.
In short: they started with the idea of being able to tell themselves a story that begins with “do you remember that time we went around the world and…” and came back with the idea of opening Groove.
